CTV teamed up with the Automobile Protection Association to go under cover, testing the honesty of some garages around the city of Toronto. The result for most garages was what a lot of people suspect when leaving their mechanic – that they were overcharged for what was done, and that some work that was done was not necessary.

Check it out at: http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/TopStories/20110408/w5-the-mechanic-110409/

It should go without saying, but at Kalifornia Kustom we promise to always be honest about whether or not you need a particular part or service. To that end, we want our customers to be as educated as possible and thought we would share the 15minute segment from CTV.

Time for an oil change, or are you not sure? That could be a problem. Your car relies on your to keep it from getting… sick. If you don’t keep the moving parts well lubricated you could run the risk of seizing up. Generally you want to get one done every 5,000km – or per your vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines. Both extreme hot and cold weather can cause premature failure of one of your largest assets. The oil filter should ideally be replaced with every oil changed as well.

Come get an oil change and Kalifornia Kustom will ensure you get the correct grade of oil for your car and perform an oil and filter service. While we’ve got the hood open, we can check to make sure the following components are working properly to keep you safe:

Engine Air Filter

Automatic Transmission Fluid

Brake Fluid

Coolant/Antifreeze

Power Steering Fluid

Keep your car running efficiently is quick, inexpensive and can save you money on gas by better utilizing your car’s available power. Who doesn’t want to get the most possible out of a tank of gas these days, right?

Oil changes exchange oil that has been running through a car for weeks (or months) with fresh oil. As the oil circulates through the engine, it picks up dust/contaminants and metal particles that not only make the car run inefficiently, but can actually cause damage in some cases.

Send a request to have us contact you through the website, or give us a call today at (905)857-0066 to set a convenient appointment to have your oil changed.
